Pixelglo.com is a monthly photography competition where photographers compete in fun, social environments for cool prizes, awards and of course, bragging rights! The site is currently in development and we need your support! Please help spread the word and if you are interested in helping out, please contact us!
How does it work? What are the prizes?
Each month, contests are run with various themes, artistic guidelines, techniques, etc. Each contests consists of a number of timed stages for photo submission, critiquing, voting, and more. Prizes may include gear, accessories, coupons, gift certificates, or even [insert quip here].
Will you keep me in the loop?
Sure! Simply type in your email address below. This will also give you first dibs on our closed beta. (We will only send important site updates and will never release your information to the spam monsters, or anyone else.)
What are the contests themes going to be?
Contest themes will be very diverse and could be a style (Sepia), an artistic direction (Dark and Gloomy), an abstract ("Does Not Belong"), a specific subject matter (Wine), etc. Do you have any theme ideas? We would love to hear them! (Update: the ideas so far have been GREAT - keep them coming!)
What is it going to look like?
Each contest at Pixelglo.com will get its own custom theme for your viewing pleasure! Check back soon (or give us your email address above) for sneak-peak screenshots!
Is it free?
All Pixelglo.com contests are totally free! Off the bat, everyone will be welcomed to register and participate. In the future, we may implement contests that require a certain skill-level, based on contest performance - but this is down the road :)
Who is making this?
The team behind Pixelglo.com is an independent team of photographers and web geeks in Chicago, called The Maven Project. In addition to the Maven team, a number of influential photographers are helping to mold, shape and guide this to be just about the coolest site .. ever.
